Places like Platt Street Borough don’t usually wow me. Typically there’s something missing, whether it be subpar food with a great atmosphere or vice versa. I’m pleased to say PSB is different. The menu is relatively small meaning the kitchen can give each plate the attention it needs to be exceptional, which they do. Chef-owners Kiel and Adam, two forward-thinking restaurant veterans had a dream of opening up a chef-driven concept, where the menu can change with the seasons. Chef Kiel stopped by our table and immediately I realized how much heart and soul went into this passion project, also evident in their cooking and generous hospitality.
Not only is the food delicious, but they’ve also nailed the decor (no pun intended) and ambiance. A mix of modern-contemporary pieces that add some elegance to the South Tampa restaurant that also has a game room (formerly The Rack then The Hyde Out). So you can’t take yourself too seriously while you’re there. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a fun night out with friends bonding over delicious food and libations.
